Who can combine SCIENCE & FAITH? Answer: The Script!

What a great way to be back in the blogging world! And what's with YUAN?! It's my first time to do an album review from one of my favorite bands.

Last September 2010, The Script has just released its sophomore album untitled SCIENCE & FAITH under RCA and Sony Music label. The album is composed of 10 all-original cuts. This album has reached the number 3 spot in the Billboard's Hot 100 Album Chart and has sold over 70,000 copies in UK alone.
The Irish band's sophomore album features the chart-topping songs, "For The First Time" and "Nothing", both composed by Danny O'Donoghue.

And speaking of the album, Since I'm a great The Script fan, I'm giving you my review about this, so far, for me the hottest thing in The Script's career.

Just what I said a while ago, it contains 10 original tracks. Here is the track list with my corresponding rating and comment about the song.

1. You Won't Feel a Thing (4:33) - (8.5/10) - The song actually fits for being the 1st in the list. Though the song lyrics suggests some promising thing on man's perspective for a girl, the upbeat tempo nailed it.
2. For The First Time (4:12) - (9.2/10) - The reason why I purchased the album is all because of this song. Well, It hit me with the so called "Last Song Syndrome" with its great lyrics, melody and great vocals.
3. Nothing (4:32) - (8.9/10) - It is the perfect song for the alcoholics. (Haha.) Just kidding. The song was about how a guy got hurt upon breaking-up with his girl who's not even talking about it. So, the guy thought drinking is his companion but it's absolutely not.
4. Science and Faith (4:20) - (8.8/10) -  Suggests the best title for the album. Well, two uncombineable things. But it is still the Love that binded these two things and became inseparable.
5. If You Ever Come Back (4:02) - (9.0/10) - The bluesy thing on this cut made me fell in love with the song. I just do hope this song will be the album's 3rd release.
6. Long Gone and Moved On (4:17) - (8.5/10) -  A perfect song to move on.
7. Dead Man Walking (3:54) - (9.2/10) - My favorite song in the album. "I hear the angels talking, talking talking..." Well, it's the song for the cold-blooded ladies. Haha.
8. This is Love (4:21) - (8.7/10) - Tells how Love can be described off. Different meanings of Love from different perspective.
9. Walk Away (3:36) - (8.5/10) - The song tells basically the story of a girl who committed in a wrong relationship with all her regrets. So, she now have no choice but to "Walk awayyyy..."
10. Exit Wounds (4:25) - (8.9/10) - What an awesome way to end listening the whole album! Great vocals, great arrangements! A total BLAST!

My ratings for the whole album?! I'm giving it an 8.9/10. Just what I said earlier, It's the hottest stuff in The Script's career. I must say, it's a total innovation, evolution and awesome creativity. Kudos The Script!

Guess who's making a come back? ISKRAMBOL!

So, after couple of weeks of not blogging, I come out now with new stuff. New stuff?! This one actually is nothing new to Filipino food culture. I mean, this stuff is making a comeback to fill our mouths. I'm talking about Iskrambol (Ice Cramble). It's actually a frosty shaved ice with condensed and powdered milk and chocolate syrup. Yum!

Talking about It's comeback. I saw lots of franchise about this Favorite Filipino over the past weeks. Saw it around the Metro in malls, along major streets. Well, From the cart-thing to a more innovative and more delicious stuff.

And the good thing, is that you can now customize your own Iskrambol. Now, the simple frosty iskrambol can be more delicious by adding up your favorite Ice Cream flavor or put your own toppings (say pinipig, chocolate kisses, vermicellis).

To end this up, Try walking along streets and you'll see what I'm saying. Sarap ng Iskrambol! :)

Would you rather be a famous singer or actor?

Honestly, I would rather be a singer. Yeah, I love acting but singing's my 1st love. My day would not be complete without singing at the top of my lungs.

All-time Filipino Favorite Snacks.

Filipinos are great appreciator of food. I mean, It's our past time. We, Filipinos do love food in general. On free time we eat snacks which we normally buy in our favorite sari-sari store. And talking about snacks, I'm giving you The Top 5 All-time Favorite Filipino Snacks. This is actually a first time on my blog.

1.Boy Bawang

This snack probably is the best partner when you're bored. I remember way back High school, This is one of the snacks na hindi mawawala sa bulsa ng mga estudyante. At kapag sobrang bored na ang klase, nagbabatuhan talaga. And recently, I just found out that this snack has lots of variants. I thought, Plain lang ang flavor nito.

2. Stick-O
Another household snack, Stick-O. Para sa mga bata, at sa mga ISIP-BATA. I rememeber, a classmate of mine, na hindi lilipas ang isang araw ng hindi sya nakakakain ng Stick-O. Hay! Sarap!

3. Cloud9
Oh that chocolatey goodness! While writing this blog, I'm actually drooling for this. Not to talk about the nougat and the caramel inside, the chocolate coating basically make this snack DELICIOSO!

4. Yan-Yan

Ang snack na mas nauuna pang maubos ang chocolate kaysa sa bread sticks. Another snack suits for children and child-at-heart.

5. Hello!
Having this sweet tooth, another choco snack that surely makes everyone go gaga on it. Those crunchy wafer, coated with Chocolate just make you ask for more.

Apparently, Namiss nyong kainin lahat ng snacks na to. Well, I for one is drooling around.

But the great thing is seeing this another potential artist on YouTube. Well, after Tommy Knox, Here's Mike. Got this cool and suave voice that everyone are sure to melt.

Alin ka sa dalawa? 1. Cool-headed person or 2. Warm-hearted person

I'm a moody kind of person and sometimes cannot control my temper when I'm so angry. I guess, I'm more of a warm-hearted person rather than a cool-headed person. My heart melts if I done something wrong to a person.

Ask me anything

Paano mo sosolusyunan ang problema sa trapiko?

That's apparently one of my biggest headaches everyday. I always give a damn about this one. Well, Bata pa ako may traffic na and I guess the only thing I could do is to pay sufficient amount of Tax, if I have my own job. That's the least thing I could do to help the government to find solutions about this nerve-wrecking thing.

Ask me anything

kelan mo plan umakyat ng baguio?

Actually, my friends and I were talking about this. We've had plans. Pero none of these happen. I want, probably on sem break, after the terrifying pre-board exams. Haha. :)

Ask me anything

Ano ang panananaw mo sa kung magiging parte ng pang araw araw na diksyon ng mga kabataan ang "bekimon?"

Well, I've nothing against gays. As these group of people in our society are now accepted. "Bekimon", just like "Jejemons" are just way of life. We call it TREND. Lilipas din yan! :)

Ask me anything

Naniniwala ka bang may mali sa kulturang Pilipino? Ano ito?

Yeah, you know, nothing's perfect. Everything on Earth has its inherent flaws. Filipinos are by nature adoptive sa lahat ng bagay. That almost everything we see, kinokopya natin. That's basically the thing, We are NOT artistic copier. :)

Ask me anything

Are you in Love right now??? if yes, with whom? :)

Hmm... at this point of time, romantically speaking, No! But, I'm in love with my life, I'm in love with I'm doing and I'm in love with the people I'm with. I hope that makes sense. :) Thanks for the q! :)

Probably, Gleeks will dance their asses away as Glee season 2 will be just around the corner. Definitely not a fan of Glee but a big surprise is a Filipino who's making her debut in a Hollywood TV series- Charice. And this is the reason why she's the talk of the town of the whole Filipino community. Well, FOX has already released its spoilers and trailers on its new seasoned show.

Will La Salle still made it to the top 4?

It's been a very productive year for all the UAAP teams this year. Why? Since all of the teams are very competitive and aggressive with the kind of team tally each teams has showed. Proof is the steep competition between these teams. As the league is near to its semi-finals, 4 teams are doing their best thing for the Final Four challenge. 3 teams already are already sure to occupy sports to the semi-finals. (FEU, Ateneo and Adamson)

However, one team, the team that has been consistently on the Final Four for the past 3 years is on the verge of being dethroned on its spot, The De La Salle Green Archers. The big question for this Taft-based team is, Will they make it to cut this year?

Court Experts gave their opinions on the said clinching round together with the other 3 teams - UST, NU and UE. Here's what they say:

Record: 6-4
Remaining schedule: FEU (August 28), UST (September 2), UE (September 4), Adamson (September 9)

The Green Archers have the toughest schedule among the middle-of-the-pack squads along with NU, see below. They have to play league-leaders FEU Tamaraws and the Adamson Falcons, but La Salle controls their destiny: if La Salle wins three of their last four games, they're in. A split of the remaining games will give them a playoff spot to get to the semi-finals.

There's no reason for La Salle to panic, however, if the first round is anything to go by. DLSU lost to FEU in double-overtime and led Adamson for three quarters before caving in. Also, a win over University of Santo Tomas eliminates the Growling Tigers, even if the Tigers win all their other games. The same goes if La Salle defeats University of the East.

Record: 4-6
Remaining schedule: UE (August 29), FEU (September 2), Adamson (September 4), UST (September 9)

Curiously, the Bulldogs are facing the same opponent, DLSU, in their last four games. But NU has to hope that La Salle loses one or two of those games, if coach Eric Gonzales' team has any shot at making the semis.

More specifically, NU has to win at least two games, then pray that La Salle doesn't win any more. If the Archers win just once in their last four games (the next best situation for NU), the Sampaloc outfit will wish that the Green Archers will beat UE or UST, since it will rid NU of the chance to take the last post-season spot. Should that happen, the Bulldogs will only have to win three of their last four games to secure a rubber match with DLSU for a Final Four spot. A Green and White split of the remaining four games will require NU to step up in order for a playoff with La Salle to take place.

Record: 4-7
Remaining schedule: NU (August 29), DLSU (September 4), UP (September 11)

UE is on the heels of two straight wins over Adamson and Ateneo, but a loss to La Salle would end the Red Warriors season automatically. The Warriors' edge, though, lies in their schedule: they have already faced the three highest-ranked schools, and having UP on their schedule is a bonus.

If DLSU manages to win only once from this point on, UE will be able to secure a playoff for the last post-season stretch should the Red Warriors go undefeated in its last three matches. Two more La Salle wins, regardless of the opponent, will send the Red half of Recto packing.

Record: 3-7
Remaining schedule: UP (August 28), DLSU (September 2), Ateneo (September 5), NU (September 9)

UST can afford to lose once – but not against DLSU – and still have a shot at the last four. Like UE, the Growling Tigers would have to sweep all their remaining games if La Salle wins at least once, to force a decider with the Green Archers for that all-important game. Should DLSU win twice against any team, it will be all over for UST.

The problem for UST is the Ateneo game. The Blue Eagles have won eight straight tussles with coach Pido Jarencio's squad dating back to 2007.

Congrats New Nurses! Congrats Friends!

Just recently, PRC has released the new successful examiners for Nursing Board Exam. And I, myself also had to wait for the results, not because I'm an examiner but because of my friends- my high school friends are the examiner, actually.

So proud of these guys who made it to the Local-RN Exams. But what keeps me mind-boggled as of the moment is their plans and what's install for them after having it the cut. Particularly at this point of time where we have a great surplus of Nurses in our country. Lots of 'em that some actually have to be social workers overseas.

It kinda upset me as these guys who devoted much of their times studying to pass the Board Exams, now thinking how they will practice their profession. And that's what I'm up to check, as their friend.

Nevertheless, I'm deeply PROUD that I'm a friend of these guys. Congratulations New Nurses!
